How does Find a Practitioner (FAP) directory sort the search results?

All search results in the FAP directory are sorted by the distance from the center of a zip code.

Google Maps uses a standardized calculation from the center of a zip code to the given address (in our case, the acupuncture practice location). The only parameters used in the calculation are:

• The center of a zip code.
• Acupuncture practice address

As a result, Google Maps produces a distance in miles from the center of the zip code. The NCBAHM has no control over those calculations; all practice locations for certified Diplomates in the FAP directory are calculated in the same manner.
